We Meet and Exceed The ESSA PD Requirements!brian2017-09-10T11:44:20+00:00
“ESSA, which replaced the federal No Child Left Behind Act and takes full effect in the 2017-18 school year, defines high-quality professional learning as sustained, intensive, collaborative, job-embedded, data-driven, and classroom-focused.” We know – we built an entire system around these requirements!
SUSTAINED AND JOB-EMBEDDED!
When you experience an onsite workshop, you receive ten weeks of Check-ups™. Check-Ups™ consist of weekly communiqués related to the workshop concepts and include items such as (but not limited to): lesson plans and activities, links to additional resources, videos, formative assessment ideas, parent communiqués and resources, and surveys. Not only do Check-Ups™ provide instructors with much-needed resources directly related to the professional development they receive, but also provide instructors with an ongoing connection to a content expert with whom they can ask questions and share ideas.
INTENSIVE AND COLLABORATIVE!
Did you know that we have an abundance of on-demand professional development opportunities? Along with our high-quality workshops, coaching, and demonstration lessons, we offer video modules with associated workbooks, book studies, and custom designed PLC or faculty meeting workshops. All of our professional development services provide an intensive experience, where the participants collaborate and conduct activities that they can then apply directly in the classroom.
CLASSROOM-FOCUSED AND DATA DRIVEN!
All professional development should be followed up in the classroom if our instructors are to be able to apply the concepts. We conduct onsite coaching demonstration lessons that mirror workshop content, and assist the instructor to apply the concepts with his or her students. How do we know this makes a difference? The data doesn’t lie. “Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn.” When professional development is conducted as the ESSA envisioned it to be, the data shows growth – growth of the instructor, and growth of the students!
