Getting Started: Familiarizing your Staff with M-Step/Smarter Balanced Summative Assessments

Smarter Balanced and M-Step are closely aligned. This 30-minute activity gives staff an opportunity to better understand the makings of these summative assessments. Included, is a quick video that allows staff to dig deeper into summative assessments. Next, teachers go to the MI DRC website and engage with a practice assessment. The activity culminates with discussion about the practice assessment.
