Aiming to Exceed Expectations: Strategies for Success on the NJSLA - Adaptive

Participants will learn to integrate necessary skills and habits of mind into daily instruction, ensuring seamless Standards-based instruction that prepares students to excel on the NJSLA, through effective test-taking strategies, NJSLA resources, rubrics, and practice items.

This workshop equips educators with strategic tools and methods to enhance student performance on the New Jersey Student Learning Assessments Adaptive (NJSLA-A). It presents a comprehensive exploration of both ELA and math task types, helping teachers decode the assessment’s structure and content. Participants engage with effective test-taking strategies, formative assessment techniques, and authentic classroom integration methods. The goal is to empower educators to guide students in mastering content while improving their confidence and outcomes on standardized assessments.
