Effective Differentiation for Whole Class Instruction

Participants will leave the workshop equipped with practical strategies and tools to effectively differentiate whole-group instruction, using formative assessments and tailored questioning techniques to meet the diverse needs of all students.

When thinking about differentiation, most people immediately think about small group instruction.  This workshop instead focuses on ways you can differentiate your whole group instruction... tailoring your instructional practices to fit each of your student's needs.  We will discuss questioning strategies that allow each student to access the learning, and will consider how formative assessment data can be used both in planning and on-the-fly to drive instructional decisions. Participants will engage in hands-on activities, review sample lessons and view video clips that incorporate the best practices for differentiating for whole class instruction.
