Intentional Planning for the Early Childhood Classroom

Participants will be able to intentionally plan and implement effective learning experiences that cater to children's individual needs and curiosities, utilize open-ended tasks to enhance teachable moments, and align with state guidelines and standards.

Most who look into an early childhood classroom may never know all of the planning that goes into creating successful learning experiences. This workshop will dive into the importance of that planning, considering children’s individual needs, their curiosities and the observations that teachers make every day. We will explore how to plan intentionally, including using open ended tasks and questions to maximize “teachable moments”. Finally we will discuss how to ensure that teachers are meeting the guidelines and standards set forth by their state as a driver of instruction.
