Using the Graphing Calculator to Enhance Mathematics Instruction

Participants will gain hands-on experience and insights into integrating graphing calculators into the mathematics curriculum to enhance student learning and engagement in Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II.

In this workshop, participants will take part in discussions and activities that will focus on how the graphing calculator can be integrated into today’s mathematics curriculum. The workshop will begin with the basic graphing calculator functions that promote visualization and conceptual understanding to help students deepen their understanding of mathematics. The Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II activities will demonstrate how the calculator can be integrated into the curriculum to improve students’ thinking skills and empower them to become more involved in their own learning. Participants need to bring TI-83 or 84 calculators.
